>Up & Running

>Ok, so we’re not flying over the fells, the miles being ticked off without a thought, but last night I started running again! Albeit only about a mile.

I should be elated, and in some-ways simply stepping outside the front door seemed like a momentus occasion (i dont kiss my fell shoes very often!) but it was equally frustrating.

A steady mix of running and walking on a circular loop was all the adrenaline I could endure. Perhaps a mile and a half, perhaps even two in total. Not that I want to be-little anyone who is unfortunate enough to cope with serious injury or disability, but it is so frustrating to be starting off with so little. Yet I know I cannot afford to push anything too hard, this early, even if easy seems ridiculously easy.

I dont think I will ever look at anyone who is out of breath, walking in their running kit or simply going less fast than I ever again, because they too may be recovering from injury or fighting really hard.

It’ll now be a day off before getting back out on the road bike.
