SLMM 2012

It’s only 3 days to go until this years Saunders Mountain Marathon and based on the sloshing around on Loughrigg Fell race last night I suspect it might be a damp one this weekend.

It’ll be my first solo race, am entered into the KLETS class so everything is down to me. Am quite looking forward to it, both the physical challenge of running solo (and carrying kit) but also the mental challenge, not so much from navigating but of having no-one to support your decisions or indeed keep you company if running alone in the clag.

Am currently sorting through my kit, trying to decide how fine to cut things, but based on recent MM form (I don’t have any, have kept retiring) I may err on the side of caution, if it’s anything like conditions were on the Great Lakes Run a few weeks ago, running in the wet could be surprisingly cold.
